Teacher Development

A career-long partnership with every educator we work with.

Our teacher development work is designed for the realities of the classroom and the arc of a professional life. Programmes are sustained, mentored and reviewed openly with the teachers who take part.

Mentoring

Trained mentors work one-to-one with teachers on classroom practice, subject knowledge and professional identity, over sustained cycles rather than one-off sessions.

Continuing professional development

A curated CPD curriculum drawing on research in cognition, curriculum design, assessment and inclusive practice, delivered in schools and online.

Lesson observations

Structured, developmental observations focused on precise, evidence-informed feedback — never on judgemental grading.

Coaching

Instructional coaching cycles help teachers isolate, practise and refine specific techniques with the support of a coach over weeks and months.

Portfolio development

Teachers build a professional portfolio of planning, evidence and reflection that supports appraisal, promotion and formal accreditation.

Professional support

Ongoing support for teachers navigating career transitions, international mobility and pathways to internationally recognised qualifications.

Career stages

Programmes for every stage of a teaching life.

We work with teachers from their earliest years in the classroom through to senior institutional leadership. Each stage has its own programme, mentors and rhythm of review.

  1. 01
    Early career

Support for teachers in their first years — classroom practice, subject confidence, professional identity.

  2. 02
    Established teacher

Deepening pedagogical expertise, curriculum design and mentoring of others.

  3. 03
    Middle leadership

Leading a department, phase or programme with clarity and evidence-informed practice.

  4. 04
    Senior leadership

Whole-school leadership, strategy and the stewardship of professional culture.

Lesson observation

Developmental, not judgemental.

Every observation is structured around a small number of agreed developmental questions, recorded against a shared framework and followed by a professional conversation. The purpose is precise, evidence-informed feedback that a teacher can act on in their very next lesson — never a summative grade.

From programme to practice

Mentoring that reaches the classroom.

Every strand of the SinoUK teacher development programme is designed to change what happens in front of students. Mentoring, CPD and observation cycles are only as valuable as the classroom practice they support — which is why our work is anchored in the schools where our teachers teach.
